Education
Whitney F. Washburn graduated in 1982 with a Juris Doctor Degree
from Pepperdine University School of Law located in Malibu, California.
He was a member of the Pepperdine Law Review and served
as an Associate Editor in 1981 and 1982. As a member of Law Review,
he published an article entitled "FTC Regulation of Endorsements
in Advertising: In the Consumer's Behalf?" Pepperdine Law Review
697, 1981. He was a finalist in Pepperdine School of Law Moot Court
Competition held in 1981 and was a member of the Pepperdine Moot
Court Board during 1981 and 1982.
Before law school, Whitney attended Utah State University in Logan,
Utah and also attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where
he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978. He majored
in business management, with joint minors in economics and accounting.

Professional Experience
Mr. Washburn was a partner in the firm of Glick & Washburn
from 1996 through 2002, with offices in Gold River, California.
The firm concentrated its practice primarily in civil and business
litigation. While there, Whitney's practice consisted of partnership
and corporate disputes, intellectual property and computer technology
litigation, real estate litigation including judicial foreclosures,
receiverships, commercial lease disputes and commercial unlawful
detainer litigation, lender representation and workouts, condemnation, easement
and boundary disputes, employment litigation, and trust litigation
and will contests.
Whitney was also a partner for seven years in Sacramento's largest
law firm, Downey Brand, where he was a member
of the firm's Litigation Department. Whitney was with Downey, Brand
from 1985 until 1996, when he left to form Glick & Washburn.
Mr. Washburn was also an associate attorney and law clerk with the
Los Angeles law firm of Bonne, Jones, Bridges, Mueller & O'Keefe
from 1981 to 1983, where he handled civil litigation matters.

Other Professional Activities
Mr. Washburn is AV-rated ("Very High to Preeminent") by Martindale-Hubbell. This is Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating.
Since 1982, Mr. Washburn has been a member in good standing of
the State Bar of California (State Bar No. 106461). He is also a
member of the Utah State Bar. Whitney is admitted to the United
States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and to the United States
District Court, Central and Eastern Districts of California.
Whitney belongs to the California State Bar's Litigation and Real
Property Sections. He was a member of the Litigation Section's Alternative
Dispute Resolution Subsection and was a participant on ADR Subsection's
Legislative Committee.
From 1992 through the present, Whitney has been a settlement conference
Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Courts of Sacramento, Placer, and
El Dorado Counties. He has also been on the Panel of Arbitrators
for the same courts from 1995 through the present and has handled
numerous arbitrations and mediations.
Whitney has been active in the Sacramento County Bar Association.
He was President of the Bar Association's Real Property Section
in 1999 and served as Section Vice-President in 1998 and Secretary
in 1997. He served as a member of the Bar Association's Alternative
Dispute Resolution Committee from 1994 to 1996 and as a member of
the Bar Appointments Committee in 1994 and 1995.
Whitney has lectured for Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), the Sacramento/Central Valley Roundtable
of the State Bar of California's Real Property Law Section, the
Real Property Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association,
and The Institute of Real Estate Management.
Mr. Washburn taught contracts at MTI College in
Sacramento, California where he was the recipient of the Outstanding
Faculty Award in 1997.

Representative Experience
Whitney has practiced before the Superior Courts of the State of
California and before the United States District Courts in California.
His litigation experience includes representation of a major supermarket
chain in significant commercial lease litigation, corporate shareholder
litigation, complex ERISA litigation, partnership accounting and
dissolution actions, intellectual property and computer technology
litigation, and employment litigation.
He also has extensive experience in lender representation in judicial
foreclosures and receiverships regarding commercial and multi-unit
residential real properties. He has construction defect litigation,
eminent domain/condemnation matters, quiet title and boundary dispute
actions, soil and ground water cleanup litigation. Whitney has litigated
numerous trusts and will disputes, including actions to surcharge
and accountings.
